FFXIV: 6.51 PvP update explained

The tides are shifting in our favor.

Jobs in FFXIV PvP have once more had a few minor rebalances with the 6.51, and more was changed or added to Crystalline Conflict. Here’s a detailed explanation of FFXIV’s 6.51 PvP update.

FFXIV 6.51 PvP update: Rebalances and Adjustments

Three Jobs were adjusted in this update: Ninja, Sage, and Paladin.

Paladin got a small buff across the board. The healing potency of Sacred Claim, a debuff applied to other players when the player uses Confiteor, Blade of Faith, Blade of Trust, or Blade or Valor, has increased from 2000 to 3000. Sacred Claims heals you when you attack players who are afflicted with it. Now Paladins can heal themselves even more. Is it any surprise they made Paladin even more unkillable?

Next up on the 6.51 PvP update: Sage was both buffed and nerfed. The barrier potency of Pneuma increased from 2000 to 3000. However, the stacks of Haimatinon were reduced from 5 to 4. But, Eukrasian Dosis III’s damage over time is now 15 seconds instead of 12. That’s a whole three seconds more of pain, helping to make Sage even more of a green DPS.

Ninja just got a complete DPS buff. Doton and Hollow Nozuchi increased potency from 2000 to 3000. And Seiton Tenchu is now 12000 potency instead of 10000.

But perhaps even more important than the buffs and nerfs is the quality of life additions. Square Enix was so kind as to grant us these much-needed improvements:

The Dragoon limit break, AKA Sky High, now changes color depending on whether it’s being used by your ally or enemy. No more staring at the warning sign and contemplating if it’s your team or the other team’s Dragoon. You will know based on if it’s blue or red.

But it’s not just the Dragoon limit break. They also added similar measures for Machinist turrets and Summoner’s Bahamut limit break. Presumably, Phoenix limit break also got this update.

The new arena

And if this wasn’t enough, there’s also a new Crystalline Conflict arena. It’s called The Red Sands and looks to be Thanalan-themed. You get to ride or avoid sand while dealing with Antilons and Sabotenders as arena obstacles. Surely it can’t be that bad, right?

Crystalline Conflict is now easier to play than ever with the 6.51 PvP update update. Consider joining the shifting tides.
