Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a staggeringly huge game with seemingly endless content to enjoy, but the journey has to come to an end at some point. While its chapter list is shorter than Remake’s, there’s still a ton of main story content waiting for you in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Rebirth is more about the journey than the destination, however, so it’s packed with minigames and side quests that can easily pad your playtime by dozens of hours. You can ignore a lot of the best content in Rebirth, but even if you completely skip Queen’s Blood and other minigames, you still have a lengthy main questline ahead of you.
How Many Chapters are in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
There are 14 chapters in the main story of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
- Fall of a Hero
- A New Journey Begins
- Deeper into Darkness
- Dawn of a New Era
- Blood in the Water
- Fool’s Paradise
- Those Left Behind
- All That Glitters
- The Planet Stirs
- Watcher of the Vale
- The Long Shadow of Shinra
- A Golden Key
- Where Angels Fear to Tread
- End of the World
There are also small interlude chapters that serve as intermissions between Rebirth’s bigger story beats, but these aren’t listed in the main chapter list. We can’t say too much about these small segments without spoiling the game, however, but just know that you’ll be pulled away from Cloud and the party’s primary journey every now and then throughout the main story of Rebirth.
How Long to Beat Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Even if you rush through the main storyline of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and try your hardest to ignore all of the game’s side content, it’ll still take several dozen hours to reach the ending. An average playthrough of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will take 50-60 hours, and that’s with a healthy amount of side content and exploration mixed in.

If you just mainline the game and rush from one main story beat to another, you can reach the ending of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in just over 30 hours or so. On the other hand, if you really take your time to explore and complete as many side quests as possible (like hunting down Protorelics to defeat Gilgamesh or unlocking every Summon), then you can easily clock over 100 hours in Rebirth by the time the credits roll.
Despite its extended runtime, Rebirth ends at roughly the midpoint of the original Final Fantasy 7 story. The rest of the original game’s story is being saved for the third and final game in the Remake trilogy, but that’s still years away at this point. A handful of other important things (like certain playable party members) are unfortunately being held back for the next game as well, but there’s still plenty of side content in Rebirth to hold you over until then.
