Warner Bros has announced another game in the FEAR series.
FEAR 3 brings with it a new developer, Day 1 Studios (which worked on the console versions of the first two games), and a new focus on “divergent co-op.” Players will be to take on the role of Paxton Fettel or the Point Man, the two children of scary wee thing, Alma.
If playing in co-op, you and your partner will have different abilities which affect your own game and that of your co-op buddy.
Most intriguing about the title, however, is the involvement of cinema legend John Carpenter who has been brought in to consult on the horror-themed cinematic sections.
“After working closely with Monolith, Day 1 is honoured to bring the next iteration of the F.E.A.R. franchise to gamers with key elements of the past games yet providing fresh combat and horror experiences in F.E.A.R. 3,” said Day 1 Studios’ Denny Thorley.
“Players can look forward to new features such as divergent co-op, an evolved cover system, and more scares in F.E.A.R. 3.”
FEAR 3 is due for release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in the autumn.
