As we head into Season 17 of Fallout 76, there’s still a lot to discover before attempting the additional content for the expansion. One of them is the pickaxe. This guide will cover where to find and use pickaxe in Fallout 76.
Fallout 76: Where to find and use the pickaxe – guide
The one thing to note is that there are a few spots where the pickaxes spawn, so you might have to go out of your way to search for them. One may assume that the Mole Miners may have them, but sadly, they do not.
As of now, there seem to be four pickaxes waiting to be found. You can read below to learn the location. However, I recommend using the map as well. The world of Fallout 76 is massive. Having a direction can speed things up quite a bit.
- By heading to Gauley Mine and looking for the Light ‘er up holotape, you can find a pickaxe leaning on some crates facing the holotape.
- In Greg’s Mine Supply, there should be two to find. One is going to be in a seated dead settler’s chest, while the other, should be near the same settler on the ground.
- If you go up to the second level of Tygrat Water Treatment Plant, you can a pickaxe in a cart.
However, some players have also found pickaxes dropped by the Scorched enemy type. This could be a good spot to farm for the weapon.
How to use the pickaxe
You may be thinking that this tool is a tool. But, like most other items found in Fallout 76, it’s modified to be used as a weapon. However, I would not recommend using this weapon as much. It’s slow-moving and two-handed. So, if you’re planning on fighting enemies like the Radtoad, I would say only use the pickaxe unless you need to.
Looks like you can now enter Vault 63 in Fallout 76, just don’t use the pickaxe to defend yourself.
