Fallout 4 Broken Gun

Fallout 4’s next gen update has broken the weapons by making them fire exclamation points

"It just works."

The next-gen update for Fallout 4 was supposed to introduce new content and improve the performance of the game. The weapons, apparently, didn’t get the memo.

Fallout 4 weapons are appearing invisible and shooting exclamation marks

In an incredible display, many on the Fallout Reddits have posted about their weapon woes. Guns are appearing as invisible, and some projectiles have taken the form of giant exclamation marks. Strangely, this isn’t a universal issue, as some players are suffering to differing degrees.

Some players have reported that all of their guns are just invisible, and others are shooting exclamation marks from only certain guns.

Clearly, this is a bug, but it’s such a glaring one that you can’t help but wonder how Bethesda missed it. The funniest thing is, it isn’t only player weapons that are suffering from this.

Although many who are loading up saves writhe with mods are experiencing this, it’s also occurring to those without any mods, meaning this is fundamentally a Fallout 4 issue. This isn’t the first time these glitches have happened, however, it used to only be a problem with modded content.

It is recommended to start a new save to experience the next-gen update, although it should work perfectly with current saves (so long as any existing mods get updated to work with the new update). Until all the patches get rolled out, this is your best option to be able to play bug-free. Aside from the radroaches, of course.

If you encounter bugs and glitches like this, make sure to post them to X/Twitter and tag Bethesda so they’re made aware. Naturally, they are trying to fix all they can as soon as they can. Thankfully this bug isn’t game-breaking, so you can continue to play as long as you don’t mind not seeing your weapons.

This, to me, has made it into the list of funniest bugs and glitches for Fallout 4.

This next-gen update has also meddled in the plans for Fallout: London, a mod that so many of the community are anxiously waiting for.
