Soon into Fae Farm after unlocking fishing, you may notice a Fish Shelf pop up as an Almanac entry. This may have you wondering immediately how to get it and if you can display fish you’ve caught like an aquarium. It’s something of a multi-step process with no clear instructions. Here’s how to make a Fish Shelf in Fae Farm.
Fae Farm: How to get a Fish Shelf
The Fish Shelf is a slightly peculiar decor item. You cannot make it yourself, but you have to make the prerequisites for it and use those to buy it.
You’ll need a Decorating Table before anything else. That’s going to cost you two beech lumber (or 20 beech logs) from the lumber station, five oak logs, 20 clay, and 20 plant fibers. It can be placed inside or outside.
From there, you’re looking for the Small Empty Shelf. It requires a single unit of beech lumber (or 10 beech logs). Now bring the item down to the Town Center and talk to Skye on the left. The Fish Shelf is purchased from her for 200 Gold Florins and the Small Empty Shelf you made.
Return to your homestead and enter furniture placement mode. Click the glowing back walls to place your Fish Shelf.
And now you have a Fish Shelf. You can’t customize the shelf with a fish on it in any way, unfortunately. You can’t change the shelf color or the type of fish placed upon it, even if you have it in your inventory. All those fish you caught are still only good for being turned into food. But the good news is, you still have a Fish Shelf in your house? I don’t know about you, but I consider that a win regardless.
