F1 Online: The Game announced by Codemasters

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

Codemasters, obvious fan of the F1 racing genre,  is now making F1 Online: The Game, a free-to-play browser-based F1 title.
You’ll be doing everything in this one, from driving the car in top-down races, managing the team and emulating Max Mosley as he [deleted for legal reasons]. Err … actually, I’m not so sure about that last part.
Thanks to Codies having the official F1 license, F1 Online: The Game will include all the proper drivers, teams and circuits from the real world.
On the track, you’ll be competing in a variety of game modes with qualifying laps and time trials and posting your times on leaderboards. Off it, you’ll be trying to build up your own little team empire and will manage “the commercial, research, production and race crew functions required for success on track”.
F1 Online: The Game will be coming to PC and Mac early in 2012. You can sign up at the link beyond the screenshots for updates on the game.
