The lawsuit against British gaming blogger Bruce Everiss by American games company Evony has been dropped, it was revealed today.

The company sued the 30 year old gamer after he claimed in his blog that Evony was previously owed by a Chinese gold selling firm, and that it had links to another company which was in the process of being sued by Microsoft for alleged click fraud. Evony strongly denied the claims made by Everiss, and began the legal proceedings in Australia – a strange move, considering that neither Evony nor Everiss are based there.

However, two days into the process, Evony decided to drop the case, stating that its players had expressed their opinions on the matter, and this was a reaction to their feedback.

As a result of the case being dropped, Evony is now looking at a legal bill of almost £69,000 GBP or A$114,000 AUD. Mr Everiss is said to be “relieved” about the outcome.
