Everywhere Game Gamescom 2022 Reveal

Everywhere shown off during Gamescom 2022, and I think it’s a game

A taste of everything?

Coming from studio Build A Rocket Boy and the former producer of Grand Theft Auto, Leslie Benzies, Everywhere has been shown off during Gamescom Opening Night Live. However, judging by its mystifying teaser trailer, I think the developer is leaning more towards an ‘online experience.’ There’s a lot going on in the teaser trailer, so it’s hard to pin down what kind of game Everywhere is. My guess? It’s just about everything.

Thankfully, I have a press release to guide me along. Everywhere, as explained in said release, is a “long-anticipated multi-world gaming experience.” Oh, so I was right. The game is basically shaping up to be a fully online and persistent universe. Action, adventure, racing, and more will be featured. By “multi-world gaming experience,” Everywhere is getting advertised as a highly ambitious game where fans of pretty much any and all genres can find plenty to do.

“Our intent has always been to push the boundaries of what a videogame can be while still delivering an innovative player-first experience,” said Leslie Benzies, game director and Build A Rocket Boy chairman. “The team we’ve built and the partners we’ve made since our founding are coalescing around the unique vision we’re bringing to life. It’s exciting to be a part of, and we can’t wait to reveal more about EVERYWHERE in coming months.”

Everywhere, everything, all at once

I’m curious to see what kind of game Everywhere shapes up to be. It sure seems like a hodgepodge of different ideas, and that can be either good or bad. Focusing on too much at once may result in the game not doing well at anything. But Build A Rocket Boy seems pretty enthused with what it’s working on. Some day, the studio may show us gameplay that will get all of us right there with them. For now, all we can do is wait and wonder.
