Epic Games Store offers Minit for free this week

The weekly free games continue...
This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Despite all the negative press the Epic Games Store has received throughout the past year, it’s hard to overlook its free games program. For those of you living under a rock, Epic Games has made it a weekly tradition to feature different titles for free. Perhaps Tim Sweeney is just trying to butter me up so he can steal more of my most anticipated titles for his platform (I’m looking at you, Borderlands 3). Regardless, it’s working. While last week saw Everything and Metro: 2033 Redux enter libraries everywhere, this week brings with it a new challenger.

A Minit to win it

This week’s featured title is Minit, an indie title published by Devolver Digital back in 2018. Minit features a similar concept to Half Minute Hero, only with no way to belay your inevitable death. Said death awaits you just 60 seconds away.

Or, as the game’s store page describes:

Minit is a peculiar little adventure played sixty seconds at a time.

The title has garnered generally positive reviews, and it is absolutely a steal at a $0 price tag.

There’s really no excuse not to scoop this one up while you can, especially considering the art style, which should allow you to enjoy it on any machine that can download the Epic Games Store (unless you hate free stuff, but how could you?).

Epic Games More

Epic Games is on a roll recently with their weekly free releases, which has included titles like the Batman: Arkham Collection, Celeste, Hyper Light Drifter, For Honor, and Enter the Gungeon.

October has really kicked off with a bang. With EA offering up a free month of its Origin Access service and now Epic Games handing out copies of Minit, it’s truly a great time to be a PC gamer.

You can claim your free copy of Minit before Oct 10 on the Epic Game Store.
