Epic Games Store’s free games for this week are now available. The freebies for this week include Anodyne 2: Return to Dust, A Short Hike, and Mutazione. All three titles will be available to grab for free until March 19 at 11 a.m. EST. As well, some of the upcoming free titles that will be available after March 19 have been teased, including the widely regarded The Stanley Parable and Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs. Both of these titles will be available from March 19 to March 26.
Anodyne 2: Return to Dust
This adventure game takes you to the island of New Theland. There you take the role of Nova, a Nano Cleaner. Nova faces the challenge of helping islanders in distress after a Nano Dust infection. This threat distorts the desires and emotions of the natives of New Theland. To help them, Nova will shrink to a miniature size and get into the bodies of those affected to get rid of the Nano Dust. This game has a mix of old-school 3D and 2D graphics, reminiscent of those from the PS1 and GBA era, respectively.
A Short Hike
The Epic Games Store’s free games lineup for this week includes this adorable indie platformer. This title takes you to the Hawk Peak Provincial Park. The goal is to reach the summit by exploring the trails around the area. Exploring the place will entail some hiking, climbing, and even soaring around the mountainous landscape. As travel goes on, there would be plenty of surprises in the form of hidden treasures and interesting travelers. Needless to say, this is meant to be an easy-going and relaxing experience.
Mutazione
This adventure game describes itself as a mutant soap opera. In this adventure, you control Kai, a 15-year-old teen that travels to the bizarre community of Mutazione to take care of her sick grandpa, Nonno. Kai’s adventures in town take her to engage with the locals, including having fun in band nights, enjoying a BBQ, or going on a boat trip. However, Kai soon discovers that Mutazione is prone to the supernatural, and she needs to save the town from looming darkness that threatens to consume everything. The mystery revolves around a 100-year-old meteor, the Moon Dragon, that caused a series of mutations on those who survived the ominous crash.
This is a pretty varied week for Epic Games Store’s free games! You can claim each of these titles for free until March 19.
