How Epic Games Store can succeed in 2020 over Steam and others success

The Epic Games Store Spring Showcase and sale are coming February 11

Epic Games is holding a showcase this Thursday, February 11, where it will show off new announcements, gameplay, and extended looks of the games coming to the Epic Games Store later this year. The Spring Showcase also marks the beginning of a two-week long sale, which will see discounts on some popular titles.

The Epic Games Showcase will premiere on Twitch at 11 AM ET. And that is about everything Epic Games has decided to share about the showcase. For now, there is no word on what games might be featured or what will be announced. However, a company representative recently told PC Gamer that there are “more exclusives coming in the next two years than we have published to date.” Does that mean we will get to see some brand new announcements this week?

The Epic Games Store Showcase also begins a two-week-long sale

Besides some new inside looks at upcoming games, the Epic Games Store Spring Showcase also begins a sale that runs from February 11 – 25, which has the same rumored starting date as the Steam Lunar Sale. Epic Games shared a preview of the list of games and their discounts. A full list of featured games without their discounts can be found here. The discounts we know are as follows:

  • Star Wars: Squadrons – 40% Off
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – 50% Off
  • SnowRunner – Up to 40% Off
  • Cyberpunk 2077 – 10% Off
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Up to 20% Off
  • Hades – 20% Off

While Epic Games has refrained from revealing everything to expect, there might be some games one could hope to see this Thursday. The games we are certain are coming to the Epic Games Store as (timed) exclusives include The Wolf Among Us 2, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and Oddworld Soulstorm, among others. But with the company not done on the exclusive market, it could very well mean that we will see a host of new exclusives featured in the Epic Games Store Spring Showcase.
