End of Nations will be free-to-play

However, optional subscription fee will provide the “most committed players” with “best value.”
Due for release at some point later this year, Trion Worlds’ real-time strategy MMO will be playable within a free-to-play framework. In Trion’s words, free players will get access to the “entire game” including, the campaign, 50-plus player online co-op, the ‘Conquer the World’ metagame and 52 player competitive multiplayer.
“Being able to offer a premium game such as End of Nations for free sets us apart in this industry,” said Dave Luehmann, the title’s executive producer and vice president. “At Trion, we strive to innovate online gaming while emphasizing the delivery of the best core gameplay experience available. Our decision to release End of Nations as a AAA free–to-play title is guided by these principles.” 
Trion have also promised that “most items” in the in-game store will be available either with ‘End of Nations wealth’ which is earned through playing and ‘Trion Credits’ which is purchased with real money.
An optional subscription is also available to players which promises a “significant amount of value and convinience.” No pricing details have been revealed.
Paid-for Collector’s Editions will also be available in boxed and digital form, offering “a cool selection of both physical and digital extras.”
