To call Elemental: War of Magic a ‘troubled’ release would be a bit of an understatement.
Stardock was, to a certain extent, a victim of its own Gamer’s Bill of Rights. A fine and noble document, but one which will draw even more criticism for your company when it releases a game like Elemental in an unfinished state.
To Stardock’s credit, the developer seems to be going all-out in an attempt to put things right.
This latest patch (v1.1) has been two months in the making and, say the team, “is an important step” in getting Elemental “up to its potential.”
The patch notes are so long it took me about two minutes to scroll down through them all, so it should be safe to say that quite a few things have been mended and improved. A further patch is due in January.
