Elden Ring guide – How to beat Wormface
The Wormface boss in Elden Ring guards the Minor Erdtree in Altus Plateau. The location is due northeast of the Forest-Spanning Greatbridge and Bower of Bounty fast travel points (i.e., where you can complete the Mirage Rise Phantom Crests secret). This area is covered in fog and the boss is wearing dark, tattered clothing just like its smaller counterparts. That’s why it’s better to pass the time until it’s noon so you can see it clearly.
Just like the Erdtree Avatar/Putrid Avatar and Ulcerated Tree Spirit, we can totally cheese the Wormface boss in Elden Ring. As usual, equip a ranged weapon and make sure you’ve got a lot of ammo.
The goal is to hang back and shoot from afar. It’s better to aim by holding right-click as opposed to locking on since the boss’ slow sideways movement might cause you to miss.
There are only a couple of noteworthy things that you should avoid:
- Melee Lunge – Although Wormface looks like a decrepit giant, it will lunge for you from time to time.
- Blight Belch – It’s got two types of ranged attacks. The first makes it vomit a bit closer to where it’s standing, and the other has fairly long range. You have to be quick to get out of the way. Even if the vomit doesn’t hit you, the blight status will gradually accumulate. When it’s full, your character will get impaled and die instantly.
In any case, you should be able to defeat Wormface in Elden Ring without a lot of hassles. This nets you the Crimsonspill Crystal Tear and Speckled Hardtear, items that you can use when mixing your Flask of Wondrous Physick.
