From the mountain pass in Stormveil Castle, follow the path until you reach Liurnia of the Lakes. You should eventually see a sector called Laksyar Ruins. Dozens of mobs will emerge from the putrid depths, and many of them will lob orbs that track you down.

Ideally, you’ll want to lose aggro by running to the western end. Then, turn back and look for a gazebo with a portal. This portal will take you to the front gate of the Academy of Raya Lucaria, but the gate is locked. You can pick up a map that tells you about a meeting place.

Note: There are a lot of things that we could do in this region, including the acquisition of Larval Tears for stat respecs. But, we’ll simply focus on how to get the Academy Key.

To obtain the Liurnia of the Lakes Academy Key in Elden Ring, make your way to the meeting place that’s due north of the Temple Quarter Site of Grace.

When you do arrive at the spot, you’ll realize that it’s guarded by the Glintstone Dragon. The funny thing is, you don’t actually need to kill it. All you need to do is mount up and grab the Academy Key from its lair.

If you do want to eliminate this rock-infused lizard, then make sure you have a ranged weapon. This encounter is no different from the Tree Sentinel and Flying Dragon Agheel. We can cheese by sniping it from afar, so make sure you’ve got the Arrow’s Reach Talisman, too.

You’ll want to aim for the boss’ head, as the lock-on system could cause you to miss. Do beware of its Crystal Beam, since it’s a guaranteed one-hit kill if your HP isn’t high enough. However, if you’re on Torrent, you can gallop for a speed burst just as your target is firing.

Defeating the Glintstone Dragon in Elden Ring nets you another Dragon Heart that can be exchanged for spells in the Church of Dragon Communion. In any case, the next part of your journey is to venture forth inside the Academy of Raya Lucaria. There, you’ll go up against Rennala Queen of the Full Moon.
