Superannuation, regular spotter of publisher activity, has come up trumps again and noted that EA has registered two trademarks for Alice: Madness Returns.
A sequel to American McGee’s Alice (the third-person Alice In Wonderland-themed action-platformer from 2000) was officially announced by EA in February of last year. Since that time, things had gone quiet – but with Tim Burton’s version of Alice still fresh in people’s minds, perhaps EA has decided to proceed with the title.
Along with revealing the trademarks, superannuation commented on the wretchedness of Bad Day LA (a previous McGee release) and suggested that Alice: Madness Returns would be “[a] sequel from a textbook hack/borderline con artist that no one is anticipating.” McGee was not at all happy, firing off an email which states, in classically self-important fashion, “Con artist? Hack? … do you even know what/who you’re talking about?”
