If you’ve been keeping up with the info coming from the Need for Speed: The Run camp then you’ll be well aware that the game features out-of-car moments. It’s the first time the series has taken such a tact and it’s a direction that has resulted in a fair degree of confusion and doubt among fans of the series.
However, if you’re someone that prefers their racing games to primarily focus on racing (a reasonable request) then you’ve got nothing to fear according to EA. Speaking to IncGamers, NFS: The Run producer Steve Anthony said of the on-foot moments:
“They’re very infrequent. There really small beats within the story itself, I’d say 99% of the game is you behind the wheel racing.”
If 99% of the game really is set behind the wheel, it makes you wonder why half of the game’s E3 demo focused on lead character Jack running over rooftops and dodging helicopters…
