EA Lampoons Call Of Duty Series With Free Parody Shooter

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

EA and Epic may not be giving PC gamers a Bulletstorm demo, but never let it be said that they have left those users empty handed. Today, they released a free PC game.
Duty Calls: The Calm Before The Storm is a totally free download of EA’s gritty and ever-so-realistic shooter.
Thrill! To the realistic super-secret wartime scenario.
Gasp! As your character sighs “boring” every time he fires his gun.
Get Chills! At every rank you progress through – from Super Awesome Sergeant to Totally Kickin’ Rad Epic Officer To The Max.
Giggle! At the rather spot-on parodies of tedious cut-scenes and ludicrous ‘blood on the screen means you’re dying’ effects.
Yes, Duty Calls is quite silly. It’s also around 800mb in size to download, so you may just want to watch the full four minutes in the video below. Stick around for the thumbs-up climax.
Overall, its single-act joke is pretty funny. Although given that EA make games just as cliched and snooze-inducing as this too, it’s in some danger of getting stuck in a parody vortex.
