Dying Light video chats with parkour man David Belle

Who do you call when you’re making a game that features lots of first person scrambling up the sides of buildings and leaping across rooftops? David Belle, is the answer to that question.

Techland has been picking his parkour brain for the zombie slash-but-also-avoid-em-up Dying Light, and the video presentation below contains a few thoughts and edited highlights from those sessions.

Belle is credited as being a pioneer of parkour, and describes it as a form of “active meditation” in the trailer.

As well as a fair bit of first-person parkouring from Dying Light, the video has some interview segments with Belle, and amusing shots of people in mo-cap suits with little white balls stuck all over their bodies.

Dying Light will be released on 27 January. Tim played around with a preview build late last year.
