Dying Light 2 Stay Human has been out for nearly three months now, and it’s been quite some time since the last update. But now, a New Game Plus mode is coming to Dying Light 2 as part of update 1.3.0 on April 27. You’ll be able to carry over all of your abilities and equipment from the regular game and face challenging enemies. However, not everything will carry over in order to keep the game relatively balanced.
New Game + is a welcome addition to the game and gives players something to do when they finally roll credits. It should also be a fun challenge since enemies will scale to your level. Hopefully, this makes encounters with enemies just as nerve-wracking as they feel at the start of the game. All in all, it’s a good addition, but one that came a bit later than the team wanted. Bug fixing had to come first. As producer Julia Szynkaruk says in the update video, “[they] needed to stabilize the game fully.”
More upgrades, challenges, and fixes
You won’t be able to carry over everything into Dying Light 2‘s New Game +, though. The key things that’ll be left behind are your Nightrunner tools. So you’ll have to work your way back to get the paraglider and the grappling hook like before. In some ways this is a good thing, as these items completely change the way the game is played. So it’ll be nice to make full use of the parkour mechanics once again.
The New Game + mode will also allow you to further increase your stats. There’ll be another 30 inhibitors to find that will allow you to further increase your health and stamina. It’s a small addition but one that will certainly help when harder content is eventually released. Players who love the parkour challenges are also in for a treat, as new ones are incoming. Players can now try and achieve new platinum medals in these races and break new records.
With all that, there are also some more bug fixes coming to the game, including a fix to a nasty glitch that caused players to get stuck in an infinite death loop. The full list of fixes should be available soon when the update goes live on April 27. If the first game is anything to go by, New Game + is only the first in a long line of content coming to Dying Light 2.
