Dying Light 2 Gre Anomaly Revenant Guide

Dying Light 2 — GRE Anomaly and Revenant guide

From champ to chump.

You’ll find several GRE Anomalies in Dying Light 2. These are encounters that are only available at night, allowing you to do battle with a special infected known as Revenants. These locations are also a great way to obtain Inhibitors to further boost your character. Here’s our Dying Light 2 guide to help you with GRE Anomaly encounter locations and Revenant enemies.

Dying Light 2 GRE Anomaly locations and Revenant guide

As mentioned earlier, GRE Anomaly encounters in Dying Light 2 are only active when it’s nighttime (i.e., 7:30 p.m. to 7:59 a.m.). During the day, you simply won’t find anything there, and you definitely won’t get your loot.

Anyway, the Revenant infected in Dying Light 2 has a few more tricks compared to its cohorts. It can leap great distances across the area, and it’s got a poison blob akin to the Spitter. Likewise, this encounter tends to have multiple “phases” (and I use that term loosely). Basically, the Revenant will spawn additional zombies to attack you as time wears on or as you deplete its HP.

It sounds like a dangerous enemy, right? Well, no, not really. If you’ve just started the campaign, then it can prove to be a challenge (similar to night chases that occur). That’s why my advice is fairly simple: wait until you’ve reached the Central Loop, the halfway point of the campaign. Around that time, you should start seeing ranged weapons. You could find bows as loot or as vendor wares. Moreover, once you assign several facilities to the Peacekeepers, you’d receive the PK Crossbow.

With any of these armaments, you can stay at a higher vantage point and snipe the Revenant from afar. Although it can leap great distances, it’s got poor vertical reach. In a way, the Revenant in Dying Light 2 would be great in a long jump contest, but he’d be a total noob at basketball.

After you’ve killed the Revenant, just check the nearby military container. Open the hatch and go inside to retrieve the two Inhibitors. Moreover, you should find some valuables to sell, as well as unique or artifact equipment.

Note: As for the zombies that the Revenant summons, you’ll mostly encounter Virals that like to run after you. Some will still be around even after your target has been defeated, so just take them out with melee weapons.

Your first kill nets you an achievement called “It Wasn’t That Hard, Was It?” and finishing off all of them gives you the “Revenants” achievement. In any case, I’ve included the locations in the next set of images below.
