Dying Light 2: Electrical Stations and Water Towers guide

The most electrifying man in post-apocalyptic history!

Let’s discuss how to capture Water Towers in Dying Light 2. Now, you might be wondering why I’ve written several separate guides for the Electrical Stations and the Water Towers only get a single page. Well, that’s because they all retain similar concepts, and there are a few ways to cheese, too.

Find a way to the top of the Horseshoe Water Tower

You’re going to do a few jumping puzzles here — everything from jumping on moving containers to grabbing hold of indentations on walls.

The Horseshoe Water Tower (i.e., the tutorial for this mechanic) doesn’t pose quite a challenge, and the way to the top is often fairly easy to spot. Also, don’t forget to grab the Inhibitor in the container.

The key difference here is that the Horseshoe Water Tower is part of a main mission, so there are additional objectives.

The first is to find the C4 explosives and disarm them. They’re always marked on your HUD.

The second, towards the end, is a confrontation between two Renegades named Jack and Joe. You can decide to fight or negotiate. Either way, you’ll have a major decision to make: you can either help these two Renegades or refuse their offer.

Note: I chose not to help these blokes, and I had to kill them in a fight. Since Dying Light 2 only uses a single autosave for an entire campaign, I have no way of knowing the outcome if I picked the other option.

After taking care of them, you can activate the pump. The game will warn you that all the loot will disappear, so make sure you’ve grabbed everything you need.

You’ll then see a panel that allows you to assign this facility to either the Survivors or Peacekeepers. Do consider the faction rewards that you’ll be getting.

Using the Paraglider for the remaining Water Towers

There are two more Water Towers in Dying Light 2. The Wharf Water Tower is in Muddy Grounds, and Saint Paul Water Tower is in Lower Dam Ayre (I’m not sure if the naming convention was intentional or if it’s an oversight since those are the names of the adjacent districts).

We’re not going to delve into too much detail because your initial goal for both of these destinations is to eliminate the mobs in the vicinity. But, before that, I suggest fully upgrading the Paraglider first. It allows you to increase your height and gain a speed burst while in mid-air.

If you use nearby buildings, towers, or churches as jump-off points, it’s actually possible to land on top of those towers. From there, you can climb down and look for the metal ladders. Interact with these so you have a way to get back to the top after killing the hostiles. Alternatively, you can just go back to your previous jump-off point and glide back to the top. Lastly, I should mention that I’ve been checking my screenshots folders, and I don’t think there are Inhibitor containers in these two locations.

In any case, let’s move on to the next part of our Dying Light 2 Water Towers and Electrical Stations guide. We’re heading Downtown to bring power back to The City.
