Developer Digital Happiness has been listening to the community and have changed their pricing plans for the Act 2 DLC.

The original plan was to release the second DLC, which is the Act 2 of the game, for around the $9.99 mark on Steam. Backers of the Indogogo campaign were to receive it for free regardless but not Steam customers.

There has been comments from players with review copies that Act 1 was a little on the short side and so potential purchasers have been slightly reluctant to buy the game because the initial release only includes Act 1 and they would not see how the story ended without buying the DLC.

Digital Happiness has told us today that “the 2nd act of DreadOut will be available as a free update for every DreadOut purchaser on Steam”

The second piece of DLC which is the Free-Roam ghost hunting mode will still be paid DLC where all of the areas from the storyline gameplay will be accessible. This will also include new ghosts not in the original game.

With DreadOut due for release very shortly this is great news and it’s nice to see a developer respond so quickly to feedback.
