There are plenty of unique and interesting main quests to embark on in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. One of these is ‘The Dragon Tears’, and has Link and Impa trying to decipher Geoglyphs and find Dragon’s Tears. This quest is like Breath of the Wild‘s version of finding Memories. We’ll explain everything you need to know about Dragon’s Tears, Geoglyphs, and Memories in Tears of the Kingdom.
Dragon’s Tears, Geoglyphs, and Memories explained – Tears of the Kingdom
To start this quest, talk to Impa at Lookout Landing, or find her at New Serenne Stable to start the ‘Impa and the Geoglyphs’ quest. After solving your first Geoglyph, you’re soon taken to another location with a hidden room and secret map. This map shows all 12 Geoglyphs, and where to find them.
Geoglyphs
Once you receive ‘The Dragon Tears’ quest, you’ll soon notice that all across Hyrule, there are many Geoglyphs. They apparently showed up after the Upheaval, which happened at the beginning of the game. These are gigantic etchings on the ground, visible from high up in the sky.
Each Geoglyph looks like a different piece of artwork, and each has a Dragon Tear somewhere on them. Using the map you discovered, you can visit each Geoglyph and find a Dragon Tear, which will show you a Memory.
The important thing to note is the fact that you should visit each Geoglyph in a certain order, which Impa alludes to during the quest. Although it isn’t a requirement, if you want the chronological order of the Memories, follow the order on the map.
Dragon’s Tears
Each Geoglyph has a small puddle containing Dragon’s Tears. They light up, and if you interact with them, it will trigger a cutscene. Discovering these Memories are important for figuring out what happened to Zelda after she disappeared.
Somewhere on each Geoglyph design, you can find the pond containing Dragon’s Tears. It’s hard to find on the ground, so fly high in the skies for a better view. For now, we’re not sure why they’re called Dragon’s Tears, but perhaps further into the story the reason behind their name is explained.
Memories
As explained already, each Dragon’s Tear shows Link a Memory of what Zelda did after the Upheaval. There is a chronological order to the Memories, which you can discover by following the map above. The Memories also provide insight into Rauru, who was the previous user of your corrupted arm.
Also, finding all the Dragon’s Tears plays an important part in getting back your broken Master Sword. So don’t ignore this questline! It’s probably even more important to finish before doing any endgame quests, since you’ll want that Master Sword back as soon as possible.
