Dragon’s Dogma 2 weapon vendor locations: Where to buy bows, swords, and gear

Up your arsenal.

If you want to survive the dangerous wilds of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll need to find better weapons and armor to defend yourself against monstrosities like ogres and minotaurs. Thankfully, most of the major towns in the realm sell equipment if you have enough gold.

While the inventories of armories and smithies start small in Dragon’s Dogma 2, they’ll gradually gain more weapons, armor, and equipment to their stock as you level up and progress through the main storyline. Not every shop will sell the same gear, though, so you’ll have to venture to places like Bakbattahl or the Sacred Arbor if you’re searching for specific equipment.

Where to Buy Gear in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Most major towns in Dragon’s Dogma 2 have weapon and armor vendors that will sell you equipment, but there are some notable exceptions. You’ll only find general stores in the towns of Melve and Harve, for example.

With that said, the first major settlement with equipment stores that you’ll find in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the Borderwatch Outpost where you begin your journey after the introduction. Since this is the first area of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you won’t be able to find anything exciting until you return much later in the story.

Vernworth

The main city of Vernworth is where you’ll do most of your shopping. There’s a general store, armory, and smithy in the town square near the fountain. Their inventories will grow throughout the game and they’ll start to stock most of the generic weapons and armor that you discover throughout the game. They won’t carry regional goods like Battahli turbans or elven bows, though, so you’ll still need to venture to other settlements to find those specific goods.

Checkpoint Rest Town

Heading west from Vernworth, you’ll find the Checkpoint Rest Town near the Bahtalli border. There’s a smithy and armory located along the main road of this settlement, and you can get to the Checkpoint Rest Town via Oxcart from Vernworth, too. The Checkpoint Rest Town shops sell stronger gear than you’ll find in Vernworth, so it’s worth a trip once you get some gold.

Sacred Arbor

To the northwest of Vernworth is the Sacred Arbor, home of the elves. You’ll need a Pawn that speaks Elvish in order to do any business there though, otherwise, you’ll end up like a kid pointing at the pictures on a restaurant menu. The Sacred Arbor doesn’t have very many exclusive goods for sale, but Archers will definitely want to visit to purchase strong bows and good armor.

Bakbattahl

Finally, the best normal gear vendors in the game are found in Bakbattahl, the capital of the Battahl region. You won’t head to Battahl until the second half of the main storyline, though, so the smithy and armory in Bakbattahl sell incredibly powerful endgame gear. The best equipment that money can buy can be found in Bakbattahl, so make sure to save your gold.

Bay Wayside Shrine

The best equipment in Dragon’s Dogma 2 cannot be bought with money, though. The Bay Wayside Shrine is home to the Dragonforged, a former Arisen who sells items and equipment in exchange for Wyrmslife Crystals. These rare materials can only be obtained by slaying drakes and dragons, but if you can defeat these fearsome foes, you’ll be able to purchase the best weapons and armor the game has to offer.
