BioWare has announced a PC only opt-in beta for Dragon Age: Inquisition’s fifth patch. Patch 5 will, according to the piece linked just there, add an auto-attack option and introduce The Black Emporium.
The latter is a much-anticipated underground shop, where players can “find powerful artifacts and tools to aid their cause, purchase epic weapons, powerful accessories [and] new crafting materials and schematics.” It’s also a place where you’ll be able to switch out your face for a new one, if you fancy. The Black Emporium contains a ‘Mirror of Transformation,’ which can alter appearances and voices.
BioWare say they want to open Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Patch 5 to a “select group of PC players via signup in a closed, developer-like environment.” Instructions on how to sign up are not yet available, but it will take place through The Keep system. Further details are promised “in the near future.”
Other features coming in Patch 5 include party storage at Skyhold, the ability to change the colour of crafted items, and a new shader quality setting in the graphics options. “Other changes and improvements” are promised, but not listed in this particular article.
It sounds like the number of people selected for this beta version of the Dragon Age: Inquisition patch will be quite restricted. BioWare state that “we don’t have any information on this or other upcoming patches to our broader PC player community or other platforms at this time.”
