Chinese New Year is is almost here and it’s time to unleash The Beast which has been teased in this new video.

DOTA 2’s New Bloom Festival will be kicking off soon which means it’s the return of The Year Beast. Introduced last year, The Year Beast challenged players to fight it but this year it looks like the event will be a little different as indicated in the new trailer (see below). This year players will be invited to “tame it”.

We’re not sure how this will work or what it will involve, but it sounds like teams will have to tame it and then have The Year Beast fight alongside your team. Valve are obviously wanting to make some changes this year without completely ditching the New Bloom event.

There’s also a little teaser in this trailer because at the end of the video it looks like the Winter Wyvern could be finally making a move to DOTA 2 as a new hero. Intriguing stuff.

We should hear more about this updated New Bloom Festival from Valve in the days ahead when another trailer or blog post pops up. Chinese New Year is on the 19th of February so these game updates and game mode should appear around that date.

Watch the trailer and see if there’s anything else hidden inside the moving pictures to get excited about.
