Dota 2 patch adds more alt-clicks, Aegis expiry noise

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

With the Group Stage of the Frankfurt Major for Dota 2 set to kick off in a few short hours, the latest update adds functionality in the form of a “Featured Tournament” section.

This offers you an overview of the Frankfurt Major, including a live schedule and an overview of the brackets, plus easy access to live broadcasts and replays. All of which, obviously, is quite lovely if you’re interested in competitive Dota 2.

If you’re not interested in competitive Dota 2, you’ll probably be more pleased with some of the other additions. There’s the slew of usual bug fixes and updates – including memory leak fixes, improved alt-tab behaviour, and ping times now showing network round trip time – but in terms of actual “game-changing” stuff there are two additions. First, you can now alt-click to show the XP remaining until your next level. Second, the Aegis now makes a sound when it expires, albeit one that’s only audible to allies. It should now be a lot easier to calculate your ill-fated dives four minutes into the Aegis timer.

You can read the full patch notes over here, or check out this Dota 2 blog post for news on the Frankfurt Major Group Stage.
