Dota 2 patch 6.85 imminent

Hold onto your bandwidth, folks: Dota 2‘s 6.85 patch is due out shortly.

This news comes from the Dota 2 Twitter account which, 12 minutes ago (at the time of writing), posted that “the 6.85 gameplay update” will be released to “the main client shortly.”

I don’t have much to say because we’ve still got no patch notes, sadly. I’m expecting significant changes to hero balance, but no new items/heroes/mechanics. Nerfs to TI5’s most picked/banned heroes are pretty much a dead cert, but I wouldn’t expect any bigger changes based on what Valve said about the patch earlier.

I’ll let you know once it goes live – which, based on that Twitter post, I’d guess at being within the next hour or so – and I’ll probably post up some sort of idiotic initial thoughts soon after that.
