Don’t Starve: Hamlet is the third in the series of expansions for the single-player game Don’t Starve. Don’t Starve was originally released back in April 2013, and has since seen expansions on April 30, 2014, and Dec 1, 2015. Besides the expansions of the main series, Klei Entertainment has also published Don’t Starve Together which is the standalone multiplayer expansion of Don’t Starve.
Hamlet available now
Don’t Starve: Hamlet is available now on Steam for Windows, Linux, and Mac. The price of the expansion is €5,69. To play the newest part of the Don’t Starve series, you need to have purchased the main game Don’t Starve. Don’t Starve is available on Steam for a slightly higher price of €8.19. Alternatively, the bundle including all current expansions and the main game (excluding the multiplayer game) can be purchased on Steam for €17.89. It is expected that Hamlet will be released soon on the GOG platform, as all other expansions are also available there.
In Hamlet, players will find their way through the city of the Pigmen, found in the deep tropical jungle. Don’t Starve: Hamlet will continue the design of Klei’s dark and humorous style. The aim is to let players use their skills and knowledge of the previous Don’t Starve series to find their way through the village of the Pigmen and survive the ominous Aporkalypse.
The Hamlet expansion will feature three new characters. Princess Wilba, daughter to Queen Malfalfa, Wormwood, a creature of nature and Wheeler, a lost air balloon traveler. Besides these three, a surprise new character will be available for everyone that owns Don’t Starve, but you will have to explore the story to find out who this new character is.
