Rainbow Six Siege is a massive multiplayer game, and many PC players have friends who play on a console. Although there is console crossplay, the next step is PC-to-console crossplay. But does Rainbow Six Siege support crossplay?
When will Rainbow Six Siege PC to PS5, Xbox crossplay come out? Answered
As it stands, crossplay between PC and consoles is not supported on Rainbow Six Siege. So console players and PC players are in separate games and lobbies, not to play together.
It has been this way since the game came out, however there is hope that we will finally see this happening this year.
Currently, the only way for a PC player to play with console players is to have the game through the Xbox app on their PC. You can connect your Ubisoft account and progress over to the Xbox app by uploading your data to the Cloud and redownloading it on Xbox. It’s an arduous process but does allow a PC player to play in console lobbies.
In the roadmap for Year Nine, all the way over in season four, you’ll see that Ubisoft has tentative plans to add crossplay between console and PC. Note that these are tentative plans, which means it isn’t a guaranteed feature that will be happening, but it’s penciled in.
If something goes awry, or things take longer than planned, crossplay between console and PC may not make the final cut for Season four of Year nine. As season four is already at the tail-end of this year, it’ll likely get pushed back to next year if things don’t go to plan.
Let’s hope otherwise, but crossplay between PC and console is slated for October to December 2024, with a small chance of being pushed back to 2025.
Whilst we wait for crossplay in Rainbow Six Siege, we always have the new Deadly Omens Battle Pass to distract us.
