For the past few Call of Duty titles, Activision has offered a companion app that has various features. However, CoD MW2 players have had difficulties figuring out how to use the companion app or if it’s even compatible. Here’s our guide on the Modern Warfare 2 Companion App and what it does.

Does Modern Warfare 2 have a Companion App?
Every Call of Duty game since Modern Warfare (2019) has been supported by the official Call of Duty Companion App. That includes Activision’s popular Call of Duty battle royale game, Warzone. However, as of launch MW2 does not support nor is it integrated into the Companion App.
Despite this, it’s unlikely that the Companion App won’t support Modern Warfare 2 in the future. Activision hasn’t confirmed that Companion App support will be added but the past suggests so. Based on past behavior we expect that Modern Warfare 2 will support the Companion App once Season One goes live. Season One is confirmed to start on November 16 so the Companion App could be updated around that date.
Assuming the Call of Duty Companion App is updated it will introduce a range of useful features for MW2 players to take advantage of. For example, you’ll be able to claim in-game XP rewards, view your combat record, monitor your Battle Pass progression, and see how you performed in your last 20 matches.
If you want to try out the Companion App it already offers services that are useful before Modern Warfare 2 integration is added. There’s a variety of official Call of Duty guides, news, and patches produced by Activision on the app that players may find interesting. Those interested in the Call of Duty League can also keep track of the league’s schedule and standings throughout the season.
The Call of Duty Companion App can be downloaded on the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store.
