In recent years, Sony has shown a willingness to port over its flagship franchises to PC. We’ve seen Uncharted, Horizon Zero Dawn, and even God of War make their way to Steam, but one PlayStation exclusive still eludes PC players. Neither a confirmation of a PC port nor a release date has been given for Gran Turismo 7.
Gran Turismo is one of the most successful racing game franchises ever made. At its peak, Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec and Gran Turismo 4 were the first and second best-selling exclusives on PlayStation 2. Similarly, Gran Turismo 5 was the best-selling exclusive on PlayStation 5. The series has since declined somewhat, but it’s still a great franchise that would add a lot to the PC racing scene.

Does Gran Turismo 7 have a PC release date?
The short answer is no. There is currently no official confirmation that Gran Turismo 7 will ever come to PC. As a result, we also have no idea about its release date or if it will even happen in the first place. It is not out of the question that a PC port of Gran Turismo 7 never sees the light of day.
However, not all hope is lost. At one point we would have said the same thing about all of the PlayStation exclusives. After all, in Sony’s eyes it’s those exclusives that sell consoles and without exclusives, players have fewer reasons to buy a PS5. Despite this, Sony has ported across most of its signature franchises to PC and even has a dedicated ‘PlayStation games for PC‘ section on its website.
Furthermore, series director and creator Kazunori Yamauchi has spoken about a potential PC port of Gran Turismo 7. Yamauchi confessed that Polyphony Digital had considered a port, but that it wasn’t in development. It’s not much but it at least suggests that the Gran Turismo 7 developer could start working towards a PC release date if it wanted to. The impression given is that Sony is not blocking a PC port which would otherwise be the biggest hurdle.
