Does Ghostrunner 2 have a Photo Mode?

Smile for the camera.

Gaming photography is an art, and I won’t hear anything else said on the matter. Ghostrunner 2 lends itself heavily to having a photo mode with its glowing neon cities and brutal blood-soaked kills, but does it come with one?

Pausing your game mid-action or right over a stunning vista and taking the time to frame the perfect shot can result in some truly beautiful scenes. I always used to have my PlayStation background set as my favorite screenshot whenever I captured one. I took pride in them. Now, photo mode in-game is essential for me, especially with how beautiful they look.

Is there a photo mode in Ghostrunner 2?

Yes, there is a photo mode included in Ghostrunner 2. However, I have a few qualms with it. First of all, it can only be activated through the pause menu. I like to have a quick key on my keyboard that will instantly pause the action and put me in the camera. Sometimes the action is so frame-accurate that I need to be on that camera button instantly.

My second problem with the photo mode is that it doesn’t come with enough camera angles, specifically a free-floating one. The only thing you can do is shoot from the eyes of your Ghostrunner, severely limiting photo mode. I imagine this is due to restrictions on what the game actually renders. However, it still put me out a bit.

The photo mode in Ghostrunner 2 is rather limited, but it is still present. I was able to have some fun with it, but I never really managed to capture the scenes I wanted. As I jumped, slid, sliced, and dodged my way around the map, I would have loved to be able to snap a third-person shot of Ghostrunner throwing a shuriken while dodging bullets and dismembering an enemy. It would have been a gory scene akin to a Tarantino movie.
