Does battle pass progress carry over after the Beta in The Finals?

Get grinding, player.

As The Finals is finally out in its full form and already being hit with errors, many things, such as how guns work and gadgets, have changed. However, the one thing that’s been on everyone’s mind is if the progression carries over.

To find out if your progress carries over after the beta of The Finals, read on.

Will progress carry over in The Finals?

The short and sweet answer is no. The reason is that a lot of what we played last month and during the other betas is different. It does make sense for players who just jumped into the game when it was released. Since Embark Studios wants everyone to start fresh, consider everything you earned to be reset. This includes the weapons, gadgets, and anything else that impacts gameplay. So, when you hop back into The Finals, your rank will drop down to zero.

However, the cosmetic rewards you’ve earned will be brought over such as skins and emotes. Not super game-changing, but having things that don’t give you a head start makes it fair for everyone. Every cosmetic you’ve unlocked for the beta’s battle pass will be brought over. In other words, you won’t have to grind as hard.

Why does progress reset?

Well as stated earlier, it’s to make the game start on an equal playing field. For many shooters that enter a beta either closed or open, they will usually reset everything. So, for The Finals, doing so makes perfect sense. I’ve played both betas and have earned quite a bit during those events.

However, I don’t mind re-doing everything. It just gives me a chance to discover the new meta, how the guns work now, and see the elements in the matches. This way, you can treat The Finals as a new game since a lot of what you knew has been altered.
