Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon launched on August 25, 2023, and as eager FromSoft fans rush to get their hands on the game, some may be wondering if it’s possible to pilot mechs with a partner together in the game. So does Armored Core 6 have co-op?
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon and co-op
Unfortunately for those who may have been hoping to jump into the world of Armored Core 6 with another person and take on the giant mech world together, Armored Core 6 doesn’t have co-op. It isn’t exactly like Elden Ring and that game’s feature to summon another player to help you. Nor is it like its predecessor Armored Core V with its co-op story mode feature. Armored Core 6 does at least have multiplayer PvP. There are both 3v3 and 1v1 versus modes, but there is no co-op mode of any sort in Armored Core 6. You have to play and brave the mechanics of the game alone. Backseat gaming is your only aid at best.

Word on the street is Armored Core 6 isn’t exactly like Elden Ring or Dark Souls games in terms of difficulty and scope. This is perhaps the reason for the lack of co-op. Co-op might just make the game too easy if it was in fact a feature. Maybe Armored Core 6 was always meant to be more of a solo experience and a step back from the typical scope and difficulty of FromSoft games. The reasons for taking such a step back we can only speculate on.
So no, unfortunately, Armored Core 6 does not have a co-op mode, at least not at the moment. However it doesn’t seem like there are any plans to add one in the future. Perhaps the feature will return if a seventh game is made?
