Does Alan Wake 2 have Denuvo?

There's a Dark Presence here, I can feel it.

Do you need to know if Alan Wake 2 comes with Denuvo so you can determine whether or not to buy it? Well, you’ve come to the right place because that’s what we’re going to look at here. Denuvo is a very controversial piece of anti-tampering software that has been spearheading gaming debates for ages. It often comes under fire when a new game is released because of the sour game experience it produces. While designed to protect developers’ intellectual property from piracy, Denuvo has often faced criticism for its potential negative impact on the gaming experience, such as causing crashes, stuttering, and suboptimal frame rates. Here’s everything you need to know about Alan Wake 2 having Denuvo.

Will Alan Wake 2 come with Denuvo?

As of now, Remedy Entertainment, the developers behind Alan Wake 2, has not officially confirmed whether Denuvo will be integrated into their highly anticipated release. The absence of any mention of Denuvo in the official announcement or the frequently asked questions (FAQ) section on the website has only added to the uncertainty. Long-time fans have been waiting to play the sequel to the successful franchise for 13 years, and the inclusion of Denuvo could be a massive rain on their parade.

Does Remedy add Denuvo to their games?

There is a way to predict the likelihood of whether or not Alan Wake 2 will have Denuvo. We can take a look at Remedy’s track record in their previous titles to see if DRM software of any kind was included there. Remedy’s reality-bending shooter Control does not have Denuvo or any other kind of DRM. The same goes for Alan Wake Remastered, which shipped without any DRM. This recent history of DRM-free releases shows Remedy has a habit of not using Denuvo or DRM of any other kind, so let’s hope that is the case for Alan Wake 2. But it has been several years since the release of a new game from Remedy and a lot can change in those years. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
