The more you carry in Dragon’s Dogma 2, the more stamina your character uses. If you find yourself out of vim after a light jog, it’s time to head to an inn and use their storage service.
This article serves as your one-stop guide to storage in Dragon’s Dogma 2, including its benefits, the location of every inn, and whether or not curatives decay while stored.
How to store items in Dragon’s Dogma 2
In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can access universal storage by talking to an innkeeper at any inn and selecting Organize Storage. Here you can Deposit or Withdraw items, or Combine items to craft things like draughts or arrows. You can also access storage via the chest in any of your houses.
Items in your storage are the same in every inn, meaning you don’t have to revisit the same inn to access your items. Additionally, dismissing a Pawn automatically transfers everything in their inventory into Storage, except equipped gear, which returns to their Arisen.
All inn locations in Dragon’s Dogma 2
There are a total of ten inns scattered around Dragon’s Dogma 2’s map. If you can see a settlement or town nearby, there’s a good chance you’ll find an inn. You can also use our map above to find the precise location of every inn in the game.
As well as depositing items into storage, Arisen should regularly rest at inns to replenish their Loss Gauge and receive rewards from their Pawn’s journey in other worlds. Make sure to check your Pawns for signs of Dragonsplague, unless you enjoy waking up to entirely slaughtered villages overnight.
Do items age or rot in storage?
As explained in the Tutorial Logbook, flowers and food do not decay, wilt, or age while kept in storage in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Everything placed in an inn’s storage stays exactly how it was deposited.
I put this to the test by placing meat and herbs in both my inventory and storage and skipping time for a few days. The items in my pack spoiled and aged, but the same items in my storage were kept lovely and fresh.
Throwing everything into storage while passing an inn may be tempting, but it’s important to remember that aged items are typically better than their counterparts. I recommend keeping time-sensitive items like meat in your pack for a day or so while they age or ripen.
How to stop time-sensitive items from decaying
If your current quest means you won’t pass by an inn for a few in-game days, you should combine them to create potions, dried curatives, or roborant. These do not decay while in your or your Pawns’ inventories and are far more beneficial than consuming a raw ingredient.
Long journeys require camping to replenish your Loss Gauge. Don’t forget to cook your meat during these brief respites. Rather than entering your inventory, your party will chow down before sleeping and receive stat buffs depending on the meat cooked. Plus, those live-action cooking cutscenes are worth it.
What should you do with rotten food?
Rotten food and wilted flowers can be sold to vendors for a single measly gold each. You can also eat rotten food to regain health, but you will become blighted, making the whole thing a bit pointless. I like to hand decayed curatives to my friends’ Pawns when dismissing them for a pleasant surprise when they next sleep.
