Discord moves closer to Steam with the Games Tab

Steam recently revamped their chat system looks very similar to Discord’s and today Discord has announced the Games Tab which looks a bit like Steam.

The Games Tab will give Discord users more information about the games they play including news, a launcher, info on what your friends are currently playing, what they recently played and other bits and pieces.

With the addition of the Quick Launcher, it will make it easier for gamers to access games while having Discord open with less faffing around. It’s interesting to watch how Discord is slowly but surely turning into something a little more useful than a chat application. Should Steam be worried?
