Darksiders Genesis

Diablo style ‘Darksiders Genesis’ coming to PC and Google Stadia

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

The Darksiders franchise continues to chug along thanks to THQ Nordic. It might be surprising to some that a new title is already in the works considering Darksiders III November 27, 2018 release. However, the cinematic trailer for what looks to be a Diablo style spin on the game is now in the works and is called Darksiders Genesis.

Releasing on Google Stadia?

The leaked trailer for the game was reported to have been leaked and then revealed. However, the THQ Nordic page doesn’t have much of anything concerning Darksiders Genesis. The last screen of the trailer does reveal some interesting tidbits, though. It looks like the game will release on all current-gen platforms, and will also be available on Google Stadia. The information might have also leaked ahead of the Stadia Connect stream. The event promises to detail launch plans and price points for the newly announced game streaming service from Google.

E3 hasn’t even officially kicked off quite yet and the ride is already starting to get pretty wild.

Top down, seat back

It’s easy to spot the top down playstyle that’s seen in the video. However, as you keep watching, it does seem a little more expansive than most isometric games in the same vein. Things like platforming were also part of the trailer as it looks like you’ll be able to grapple and traverse varying level design.

There’s not much else known about the game. THQ Nordic has been teasing three new game releases this week, starting with SpongeBob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom-Rehydrated. The game was announced yesterday and coincided with the dates THQ Nordic displayed on its various social media feeds. This is presumably the second, if not the final, game scheduled to be revealed.
