As you start to collect gear while playing through Season of Blood, you’ll soon realize that they have Pacts attached to them. Pacts in Diablo 4 Season 2 are essentially values set to three different categories: Ferocity, Divinity, and Eternity. To use a specific Vampiric Power, you must wear specific armor pieces with certain combinations of Pacts.

Still confused? Well, Pacts on your armor have number assigned to them. These will add up with your total gear, and in the Seasonal tab in your inventory menu, you can explore the various Vampiric Powers and the activation costs.

For example, in the image above, the Undying Vampiric Power only costs one Eternity. I have an armor piece with at least one Eternity level, so I can activate the Vampiric Power by slotting it in. Interestingly, depending on your World Tier, the amount of Pacts per gear item can vary:

  • World Tiers 1 and 2: Three Pacts max per item
  • World Tier 3: Four Pacts max per item
  • World Tier 4: Five Pacts max per item

How to customize Pacts in Diablo 4 Season 2

You can actually remove and add Pacts from your gear. To add a Pact, you’ll need to acquire a stand-alone Pact, you can get them from random drops and rewards. An Alchemist can also craft some for you. Just make sure your gear item has room for the Pact.

You can remove Pacts from gear with a Cleansing Acid. This is a type of consumable item that can remove a Pact from your gear so you can replace it with another. There are actually four types of Cleansing Acids. Three for each type of Pact, and one that works with all of them.

If you’re looking to get a Cleansing Acid, you can acquire them by engaging in Blood Harvest events and defeating Blood Seekers. You can also find some in Opulent Coffins, from Season Journey rewards, and randomly during the Seasonal questline. They won’t take up any space in your usual Inventory. Instead, you can find them in your consumables tab.
