The US game rating board, the ESRB, has posted their official rating for Diablo III.
As expected, Blizzard’s action RPG has been given an ‘M’ rating in the US with ‘content describers’ which include Blood, Gore and Violence. The rating goes on to say that the game includes:
“Battles are accompanied by slashing and flesh-impact sounds, screams of pain, and frequent blood-splatter effects; creatures often explode into bloody fragments as multiple enemies are dispatched at once. Some levels depict burning corpses and dead villagers amid large pools of blood”
With the body parts flying all over the place as you stomp through with your character, it’s no huge surprise the game received an ‘M’ rating.
The game has still to be given a rating in Europe.
