Let’s discuss the death scenes of the main characters in The Devil in Me.

Erin

  • Stabbed in the throat
    • Chapter: Blackout
    • Attack Du’Met instead of taking the inhaler. Strike him, and he’ll stab Erin in the throat.
  • Stabbed in the eye with a syringe
    • Chapter: Silver Ash
    • You’ll hear a warning from Jamie. Instead of hiding in the closet, run toward the door. Erin will be surprised, and she’ll trip over the mannequins, one of which will stab her eye out with a giant syringe.
  • Asphyxiation
    • Chapter: Breathless
    • This occurs in the Suffocation Room in the manor. Choose to kill Erin, and that’s exactly what happens.
  • Axe to the chest
    • Chapter: Maze
    • As Kate, choose to barricade the door, then climb up the incline. Erin will be left on her own, unable to open the exit.

Charlie

  • Burned to death
    • Chapter: Ignition
    • Have Charlie attempt to force open the door twice.
  • Ripped apart by a trash compactor
    • Chapter: Waste Disposal
    • While riding the conveyor belt, fail the QTEs. Then, fail the next set to see Charlie ground to a pulp.
  • Death by curing vat
    • Chapter: Cliffside
    • Charlie and Mark will hide inside the vats in the meat factory. Fail the “Don’t Breathe” minigame here to see his demise.
  • Falling down a cliff (V1)
    • Chapter: Cliffside
    • After pushing down the crate to destroy the floorboards, Mark and Charlie will cross a wooden plank. Don’t bother balancing yourself, and Charlie will take the plunge.
  • Falling down a cliff (V2)
    • Chapter: Lighthouse
    • This is further discussed in our Guilty achievement guide. Basically, the crew will tie up Charlie, leaving him on his own. The next time they see him, his body’s been thrown off a cliff, and his torso has the word “complicit” carved on it.

Jamie

  • Stabbed with a knife
    • Chapter: Director’s Suite
    • While being chased by Du’Met, tell Kate to close the door, then fail the button prompt QTE. Jamie’s hand will get punctured by a knife, and the same weapon will be used to stab her in the back.
  • Axe to the head
    • Chapter: Homestead
    • This is discussed further in our save the dog guide. Both Kate and Jamie need to be alive at this point. Then, Jamie has to ask Kate for help. Once Du’Met corners them, don’t stab Connie, causing him to bark. The noise will attract Du’Met, and he’ll chop Jamie in the noggin.

Jamie or Kate

  • Crushed by a trap
    • Chapter: Director’s Suite
    • This is discussed further in our Glass Trap guide. Jamie can keep the screwdriver early on in the chapter. Later, she can press the button to make the wall crush Kate. Alternatively, Jamie can give Kate the screwdriver. While inside the trap, choose the apologetic response and don’t press the button. Jamie will be squished instead.

You’re probably wondering why Mark hasn’t been taken out yet. Well, in the next part of our guide, we discuss the death scenes in the finales of The Devil in Me.
