Yet another game-ruining bug has plagued both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2. Since today’s release of Season 2 for both games, players have often come face to face with ‘Dev Error 11152,’ a bug that prevents them from playing either game outright. At this point, you would not be blamed if you simply grew fed up with these persistent issues and stopped playing these new Call of Duty games. But if you wish to experience the Season 2 content in either MW2 or Warzone 2 and prevent ‘Dev Error 11152’ from showing up again, this guide will show you a handful of potential solutions to fix the issue.
How to fix ‘Dev Error 11152’ in MW2 and Warzone 2
One solution simply involves repairing either game, which you can easily do on platforms like Steam. If you own either of them on Steam, open up the Steam app, go to your game library, and right-click on either MW2 or Warzone 2. From there, go to ‘Properties,’ click ‘Local Files’ on the left-hand side, and choose ‘Verify integrity of game files.’
Any other solutions?
If this solution does not work, you may have to uninstall either game from your PC and then reinstall it to fix the issue. To uninstall, simply go to the system settings on your PC and click on the ‘Apps & Features’ tab. Then, you scroll down to find either MW2 or Warzone 2, click on it, and select ‘Uninstall.’ If you go back to the Steam app and reinstall either game, the error should hopefully not show up again.
According to Infinity Ward, ‘Dev Error 11152’ and other similar bugs have surfaced potentially due to players not fully installing the Season 2 update files for MW2 or Warzone 2. At the very least, it seems that reinstalling either game consistently gets rid of the error for most players. But at the same time, players should really not have to keep dealing with these kinds of issues, especially considering MW2’s less-than-stellar launch.
