This weekly reset in Destiny 2: Season of Arrivals already brought us the Missive quest and the Ruinous Effigy exotic, the hunt for Savathun’s Eyes, the Moments of Triumph, and even a nifty Festering Core Nightfall bug. But, there’s additional stuff to do with the inclusion of the Exodus: Preparation quest chain, the reprised/reissued Ikelos weapons (the sniper and submachine gun), and weekly bounties from planetary vendors. Here’s our guide to help you out.
Note: For more information about all the other activities and content for this season, check out our Destiny 2: Season of Arrivals guides and features hub.
Destiny 2: Season of Arrivals – The Exodus: Preparation quest chain
The Exodus: Preparation quest chain is a way of progressing the storyline in Destiny 2: Season of Arrivals. Savathun’s incursion, where the “Taken Queen” brought countless Pyramid Ships to the solar system, remains unstoppable. The Warmind Rasputin was next to useless against the invasion, and so there’s no recourse but to either evacuate or prepare planetary defenses. That’s where you come in.
Speak with Zavala in the Tower and he’ll tell you about these developments. Your next goal, therefore, is to converse with various planetary vendors/NPCs one by one as you continue onwards with the Exodus quest chain.
Weekly bounties
Your first stop is Titan where you need to speak with Sloane. Each step in the Exodus: Preparation quest chain will follow this sequence:
- Head to a planetary vendor.
- Complete one of their weekly bounties.
- Speak to the planetary vendor again.
- Head to the next planet and repeat the same steps.
The characters will offer you with two weekly bounties to complete (and they reward you with the aforementioned Exodus-infused Umbral Engrams). You could go ahead and do both bounties for the rewards, but you only need to do one if you want to save some time. The weekly bounties for the next destination will only be available after completing the previous steps.
Titan (Sloane)
- Defeat 75x Hive and complete 1x strike on Titan.
- Complete 3x patrols and defeat 45x Hive in the Tidal Anchor or Sinking Docks areas on Titan.
Io (Asher Mir)
- Complete 3x public events on Io.
- Defeat 60x enemies using any ability on Io.
Note: After completing one of Asher Mir’s bounties and speaking with the angsty Warlock, you’ll need to talk to Zavala in the Tower so you get the next step. You’ll also obtain a fully-masterworked (velocity) Militia’s Birthright grenade launcher which has Quickdraw and Moving Target.
Mercury (Brother Vance)
- Defeat 7x Minotaurs or Hydras and perform 10x finishers on enemies in Mercury.
- Defeat 75x enemies and complete 1x strike in Mercury.
Note: If you want, you can pick up both weekly bounties and run the Garden World strike.
Mars (Ana Bray)
- Defeat 60x thrall and get 25x melee kills on Mars.
- Defeat 75x enemies and complete 1x strike on Mars.
Note: If you want, you can pick up both bounties and just run the Strange Terrain (Nokris) strike.
When you’re done with your solar system tour, speak to Zavala to finish the quest chain. You’ll earn a Season 11 triumph for that (though it’s not part of the requirements for the MMXX seal). The rewards you do want, however, are the two new Umbral Engram focusing selections.
New Umbral Engrams and reprised Ikelos weapons
Although the Exodus-focused Umbral Engrams provide you with the Ikelos sniper and submachine gun, you can also obtain these once you finish the entire Exodus: Preparation quest chain. Two new Umbral Engram types will be unlocked in your Prismatic Recaster:
- Assassin-focused – Berenger’s Memory grenade launcher and Ikelos sniper.
- CQC-focused – First In, Last Out shotgun and Ikelos submachine gun.
These will net you some old weapons which have a 1,360 PL cap (would last you until season 14 even with weapon sunsetting. Oh, and the Ikelos sniper can even roll with High Impact Reserves for massive damage in Destiny 2‘s Crucible.
