New mods and Prismatic Recaster focusing
Let’s say that you’ve acquired some Decrypted Data to level up your Splicer Servitor reputation. You’ll notice that you can acquire new mods.
The mods for Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer focus on the elemental well mechanic. When you pick up one of these, you’ll recharge a bit of your ability with the lowest energy. However, if you grab one that matches your subclass’ element, you’ll gain energy for all your abilities.
Here are the mods:
Mod | Effect | Armor Energy Cost | Reputation Rank |
Reaping Wellmaker | After activating your class ability, your next final blow with a weapon creates an elemental well. | 2 | Available by default |
Well of Tenacity | Picking up a Void elemental well temporarily reduces the damage you take from combatants. | 2 | 2 |
Explosive Wellmaker | Rapidly defeating enemies with explosive damage creates a Solar elemental well. | 3 | 4 |
Well of Life | Picking up a Solar elemental well grants increased HP regeneration for a short period of time. | 2 | 5 |
Overload Wellmaker | Defeating a combatant with a finisher spawns two Arc elemental wells. | 4 | 7 |
Well of Ions | Picking up an Arc elemental well causes your next melee to deal increased damage. | 2 | 8 |
Shieldcrash Wellmaker | Breaking a shield with a matching elemental weapon creates an elemental well. | 4 | 10 |
Now, if you check the HELM Command Center’s main area, you’ll notice that the Prismatic Recaster has something new. Although it still has the perks that you’ve unlocked from the previous season, you can obtain additional focusing types for Destiny 2‘s Season of the Splicer. In a way, you can fine-tune how your Umbral Engrams will turn out after being transformed to receive drops that are specific to this season.
Be forewarned, though, that it’s going to be yet another grind. Certain weapon focusing selections require numerous kills with a particular firearm. There are also those that’ll have you clearing lost sectors, finishing public events, or amassing enough ability final blows (i.e., melee, grenades, or supers). Oh, and focusing will also cost some Decrypted Data.
Anyway, let’s discuss the upgrades for the Splicer Gauntlet in the next section of our guide.
