Shattered Realm: Ruins of Wrath – The boss and the third Lost Techeun
If you look at the floating lights, you’ll notice that they’ll lead you toward the hulking Pyramid Ship in the distance.
This area is conveniently named The Warship, and you can activate the third beacon here.
Doing so makes the boss in the Shattered Realm: Ruins of Wrath appear. This fella is a giant Hive Knight called An Xohol, Jaws of Xivu Arath.
It has the usual attacks, including the ability to spawn small Blight sections that will debuff you. This fight will be slightly hectic due to the sheer number of mobs that appear, including Thralls that will relentlessly chase you down.
After dealing a bit of damage to An Xohol, it’ll shield itself. Then, a shimmering Wizard will also appear. Kill the Wizard to destroy An Xohol’s shield temporarily. Even better, the Wizard drops the Wrathful circle, the same buff you used when taking out foes during Wrathborn Hunts.
You can stay in the circle to get the full duration, blasting An Xohol from a distance. Alternatively, you can dip in and out to gain a five-second buff if you want to use swords like The Lament. You should be able to take a chunk out of An Xohol’s HP.
Once you’ve dealt with the Shattered Realm: Ruins of Wrath boss, interact with the pod to rescue the third Lost Techeun. This will also complete the Ascendant Explorer Triumph which entails finishing runs in each of the three Shattered Realm branches.
Return to the HELM and pick up the “Safe Passage” upgrade from the Wayfinder’s Compass. This will allow us to activate the “bird left/bird looking left” totems, preventing the Field of Strife aura from causing issues with mobility. Likewise, I suggest grabbing the “Ascendant Sight” upgrade if you haven’t yet. It will make additional Ascendant Anchors appear in the Shattered Realm.
Note: Don’t bother with “Astral Attunement” (increases the duration of the “Safe Passage” buff). We can’t get it until we complete step 41 of the Wayfinder’s Voyage quest chain, and we’re only at step 23.
Oh, and you’re not done yet. When you look at the walkway to the teleporter, you’ll see Petra and Crow arguing. It seems the reanimated Uldren wants to talk to Savathun (which everyone knows is a terrible idea considering what happened in Forsaken).
Talk to Savathun after this. Then, speak with Uldren followed by Petra via the Wayfinder’s Compass terminal. This will complete the Wayfinder’s Voyage III seasonal challenge (assuming you’ve killed lots of Taken and Hive as well).
In any case, that does it for our initial rush through the Shattered Realm: Ruins of Wrath in Destiny 2: Season of the Lost. You can take a look at our companion guides regarding the Trival Mysteries/Enigmatic Mysteries and Ascendant Anchors for this week.
Destiny 2: Season of the Lost is available via Steam. For more information, check out our guides and features hub.
