The Point of the Stag is an Arc Combat Bow that came into Destiny 2 during Season of the Worthy. Since that time this has been a liked weapon within the community. However it’s never been amazing during its lifetime in Destiny 2. With that being said, this is still a good Combat Bow and with the right setup of perks it can deal some real damage in PvP. Here’s how you can find the Point of the Stag and what some of its best perks are in Destiny 2.
How to find Point of the Stag Godroll in Destiny 2
The Point of the Stag is rewarded to you via Iron Engrams. You can get these Engrams by playing through rounds of Iron Banner in the Crucible. Lord Saladin also has a Point of the Stag as a Rank Reward once you reach Rank 4. This is a static version of the weapon though so all of its perks are set and won’t be randomized.
Point of the Stag best perks
This Combat Bow has a Precision Frame which means it has a longer draw time and can deal more damage. So we want perks that can either increase its damage, or reduce its draw time to pick up that slack. Here are some of the best perks you can get for the Point of the Stag that cover these areas.
Best general perks:
- Elastic String (-10 Accuracy, +5 Handling, +20 Charge Time, -72 Draw Time), Flexible String (-5 Accuracy, +10 Handling, +10 Charge Time, -36 Draw Time), or Polymer String (+5 Accuracy, +10 Charge Time, -36 Draw Time)
- Fibreglass Arrow Shaft (+15 Accuracy, -5 Stability), Helical Fletching (+5 Accuracy, +5 Stability), or Straight Fletching (+10 Accuracy)
- Archer’s Tempo or Elemental Capacitor
- Golden Tricorn or Swashbuckler
My personal choice:
- Elastic String
- Straight Fletching
- Archer’s Tempo
- Swashbuckler
When it comes to the Point of the Stag, I prefer perks that reduce its Draw Time the most. That slow draw speed is what makes the difference in a tense firefight. So being able to shoot the bow quicker will make a massive difference. Archer’s Tempo makes a massive difference as each Precision Hit decreases the bow’s Draw Time. And then Swashbuckler is my personal choice for the final perk since both kills with this weapon and melee kills will increase your damage. Golden Tricorn is also very good, but works best with an Arc subclass. And since I don’t usually play Arc, it’s not a perk that works the best for me.
