If you’re one of the people who pre-ordered Destiny 2, or have a code for early access to the PC beta, the pre-load starts today. That’s according to this Bungie post (scroll down for the PC stuff).
Those who purchased through Battle.net should (as of 10am Pacific today) have a big ‘Install’ button for Destiny 2 in that app. If you bought the game at retail, then you should have a code which can be redeemed here. Early Beta access starts on 28 August, whereas for everybody else it begins on 29 August.
There doesn’t seem to be a preload available for people who aren’t getting early access, but maybe that will come later. The same Bungie post has a few things to say about the PC release. It confirms the default controls (shown in the image below) and says they can also be rebound. Sounds like the Beta will have text chat only, but for launch “we plan on adding a Team channel (similar to team voice chat) and the ability to whisper to Clan members.”
